Blogmas Day 21: A Christmas meetup dress (and give away winner).

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to Blogmas Day 21!

As you may have noticed, I miserably failed at keeping my blog posted daily from last week.
Unfortunately, life has been running fast and keeping me busy for the last bunch of days, and blog posting had to be a bit neglected as a consequence of it. Now you can sum it up to my epic blog fails list... But anyway, I thought I could try double hard until Christmas Day at least and keep you tuned with life, so today I am coming back to show you my last handmade piece as well as announcing December give away winner (which I also failed to reveal last Saturday, oops, sorry about that!).

Well, it is good to say I managed to finish my Christmas dress at least. In this ocassion I kept things simple with patterning, as the fabric was pretty enough to make the dress nice. I mainly used tulle lace, and silk rayon. I must confess I am so in love with the fabric, I am considering to repeat this later entirely on black, and maybe royal blue or emerald green as well (because I am such a freak I like to have the same piece of clothing in different colours).

Once I was done with the dress itself, it was quite easy to match it with some of my little wardrobe treasures. So in case you are curious, here you go the Outfit rundown:  dress - handmade by me / blouse - Zara/ brooch: Brigitte Bijou / shoes - Marks & Spencer / headpiece and fan - custom made / bracelet - handmade by me.

And finally the Christmas Give away revealed: Congratulations to Alejandra!
Please, send me a mail as soon as possible, so I know where to send you your prize.
Once again, thank you all for participating!!!

  2. Gorgeous dress, Violette! That fabric is amazing, and I bet it was not too easy to sew either!

It's just too busy this time of year to stick to any kind of regular blogging schedule, isn't it? And in case I don't make it back here before the big day, a very Merry Christmas to you and the Gentle One! xox Oh, I did see your answer to the foundation question. After Xmas I will try and source some to try for myself - thank you! :)

    1. Thanks Insomniac! It was a bit hard to sew both layers together as I had to go slowly and the needle tended to get caught in the bits where the embroidered flowers were bigger, but everything was a question of being patient.

I do hope you are enjoying a wonderful time with your beloved people. Big hugs to you!

    1. Thank you, Ramona. Temptation to make it different colours is quite strong right now. I am trying to convince myself there are not that many opportunities in my daily agenda to wear them, but I am having a hard time by doing so. I am not too realistic or pragmatic, haha.

  7. Your Christmas dress is a stunning piece of work! You should definitely try to go ahead with your idea of making it in different gothic colours if you ever have the chance. Royal blue would be amazing! x

    1. I agree, Ali! Royal blue can look truly beautiful. Nonetheless, I have been thinking about making it on marble colour as well, haha.

    1. Thank you very much, Ventovir. I made this dress myself, so no brand. However, I got the inspiration from some Moi-même-Moitié old models.
