On Saturn days we used to sleep

For most people Sundays are the typical resting day.
A day linked to late breakfast, newspaper, family lunch and all that jazz.
I share that vission, but Saturdays can be as lazy as Sundays for me.
The reason is simple: I am quite lazy homely myself.

Almost every single weekend starts the same way.
I wake up a bit later than usual, make myself a big coffee mug and bring it back to bed, along with a good book.
Of course, Sunday breakfast with The Gentle One is far better in terms of gastronomy (we established the habit of having special food on Sunday mornings some time ago,
so that means my fiancé is making his best as a chef as I´m a total mess.
You weren´t expecting me to be a good cook, were you?),
but Saturday mornings are just for me, and generally some hot drink
and tasty bun would make it.

After an hour reading, watching a good series, uploading my Goodreads account, or doing whatever I fancy, I normally get my manicure and hair done
(God blesses weekends, they are the only chance to do so, actually)
and then I dress up, as we normally go out in the afternoon for some
urban excursion.

Unfortunately, The Gentle One was feeling sick all day long.
We had to cancel evening plans, so he could have a rest.
Well, there won´t be any adventures today but you know, I love doing anything,
so a movies night indoors looks like a nice plan.

So tell me darlings, how do you usually enjoy your weekends?

  1. That sounds like a great weekend! It always seems like over the years either me or my partner was always working weekends, so we never really get to do the weekend together thing, but we love to watch movies or TV series together whenever we have the time. Sometimes we go to the cinema on Thursday nights (the latest session with least noisy people). I dream of a future weekend with pastries, tea and writing, although I also dream of writing full time so I hope that works out!

    1. I see your point, as for me complete happiness would consist on full time self-employement (working from home is my golden dream), and more specfically, full time writing. It looks like we have quite a lot in common!

    1. I can consider myself lucky, as I don´t work on the weekends. It is really good to enjoy the whole break and do whatever I feel like. It kind of makes me feel free until cetain point.

  3. I think your weekends are great! I wish I could take it easy and rest, but there is always something to do on the house, in the garden or kids buisness (sports).

    1. Oh, I know most people does not have time enough for being lazy (people with high cominttment jobs, or children, or you know... a life, haha). But well, the important thing is to be happy, and for me that means just... laziness :P

  4. I open my store late in the mornings, so me and my man start every day with big cups of vanilla lattes. During the autumn months we also put spices like cinnamon, cardamom, allspice and clover in - it's so delicious, an every day luxury.

    1. Oh, that sounds wonderfully delicious! During the Autumn season I tend to drink more Cinnamon tea, together with American tea. I think I will give a chance to your seasonal drink!

  5. Your photographs always have a wonderfully eerie and genuinely gothic 'aura' about them; they always seem quite enchanting! I wish mine were as interesting.
