Special ocassion outfit drama

I´ve got a dramatic side, I always have had it but the good thing about it (or bad, it depends on your perspective, actually) is it just pops out once in a while, mostly during stressful situations. Once again the problem about stress is it totally depends on your perspective too: what a person considers an issue might not be necessarily a source of anxiety for another fellow.
For example, I am currently scheduling my holiday posts, as I won´t be around the internetz that much during the festive period. For many other bloggers that´s a source of stress, but to me is just ok, as long as I have proper time to plan.

Nonetheless, there are some other little details that can pull my trigger.
Now that I come to think about it, for me it is all a question of careful planning strategy. Most of the times I do not suffer from anxiety unless I start feeling I don´t have the time required to make preparations.
Yes, there is quite a lot of control maniac on me.
As a consequence I always stuggle with that type of plights other people don´t perceive as problematic at all.

Unfortunately, this week is one of those moments.
First, let me say I have the best friends EVER. They just decided it wasn´t enough to meet us for some partying when we arrive to Spain for Christmas this year, but they also thought it could be great to prepare an engagement party at home for us.
You see? Best friends ever.
I am really happy about the idea, don´t get me wrong
The only problem is I got SO excited that I simply can´t figure out what to wear for such an special ocassion
First world problems, right? Silly...

Outfit rundown: shirt - London / skirt - Chicwish (previously featured here) / underbust corset - Restyle / flower clip - New Yorker.

I´ve been thinking about it since I was told, and three or four good ideas came to my mind but they all have to do with internet dresses (which I can´t order on time for the party, as I´ll be leaving Bucharest next Friday), and custom made dresses (same case), so in any posible scenario I won´t get my dress on time.
What to do then?
I visited half a dozen of shops this week looking for the precoius one, but not a clue about what to wear. Suddenly everything looks vulgar to me.

Looking on my wardrobe?
Well, that´s what I normally do if I am on a hurry, but I swear this time I ran out of inspiration. I have been playing with some outfits (as the one you can see in these pictures) to see if I feel comfortable, but nothing seems to work...
So here I am, complaining about non-existent problems to you.
Gosh, feel free to kick me.

So tell me darlings, what do you do when you find yourselves on such a situation?

    1. Thankie! I am always very unsecure when it comes to festive ocassions, and it normally takes a long time to me both, choosing the clothes and getting ready. I think I never look as good as I´d like.

    1. Aw, that´s very nice, Vivian. I love full midi skirts but they are not that easy to find :/

  4. You look so beautiful! I can never find anything to wear for special occasions. It doesn't help that I am not even 5ft, so I dresses and skirts are always too long for me. It actually seems strange to me that you are finding it difficult to find something to wear, because I always admire your style and you always look so lovely!

    1. Aw, I know what is like Claire. I am tall but tiny and finding dresses without low necklines is sometimes difficult to me. I don´t enjoy showinf too much of my legs either, so coming with me while shopping can be a pain in the ass.

  5. I love that outfit, you look amazing in black and green, I think it is a very underused colour scheme!

Perhaps look over old outfit photos for inspiration, if you still have all the clothes. I have found myself looking over old outfits going, 'oh, I love that!' although I have often grown out of my old clothes!

    1. Black and green is so lovely! I specially appreciate musk and emerald shades, but once again it´s not that easy to find good clothes on those colours.
Actually, I am very fond of your idea! I am going to have a look among my old pictures. Maybe I find some idea I like ♥
