The Secret List

I have a secret list.
I am sure many of you do, but maybe you don´t call it a secret list (indeed, mine is not secret neither but I like to call it that way, just for the shake of keeping the mistery around).
What I really have is a DO list or a wishlist, a list about all the places I wanna go and the things I want to do.

That list is very long.
If I would write it down on paper, it would take a giant scroll and many strong men to carry it.
There are important and unimportant things on it, of course, and one of them is visiting Paris because well, it is Paris, right?
And when I dream about Paris, I always imagine myself having tea at Ladurée. Partially because all the sweets and partially because of the grace of their restaurants.
But a couple of weeks ago, I could make my dream come true.
Partway.
I would like to say I was lucky enough to get a last-minute bargain flight ticket for France, but it was the second part of my wish what I could experience.
Ladurée opened a new shop in Bucharest. It is not a restaurant, so I couldn´t have tea there but I could taste the long-waited-original-recipee-macarons. The ones that are supposed to change your flavor perception forever.
They did it.

Even The Gentle One had to admit he had never tried anything like that.
And he even did not like macarons before that!
Seriously, people. The kind of savor explotion you don´t expect.
If I could, I would marry those macarons. Then we would have macaron-babies and I would eat them all.
They were THAT good.

Tell me darlings, have you recently crossed out something from your DO list?

  1. Ooh that looks lovely! I would love to visit Paris too. I went many years ago but it rained for the whole day I was there as I didn't really get to look around!

And I would love to see what else is on your list! I keep meaning to write mine down so I can cross things off it!

    1. Well, I think you had a very typical Parisian day then. The city is famous for its eternal raining among other things :) I hope you enjoyed the trip, anyway (even with the rain I would die for going there) ♥

  3. So glad I just found your blog. It's absolutely lovely. :)
All of those macarons look so good! I actually was able to finally try a macaron about a month ago for the first time. It was at a little stand in the middle of a large mall. They tasted sort of dry and flavorless to me. But I'm hoping it's just because they were little cheap sweets that have sat in a mall stand too long. I want to believe that macarons from a place like this would be amazing. I hope I can visit a place like this someday!

    1. Thank you so much and please, be very careful to my blog.
In relation to macarons, I think I mentioned some other time they can be pretty tasteless if the cook is not good. As a matter of fact, the recipee is very hard to reproduce correctly. That´s the reason why it´s important to eat them on a specialised place.

  4. Ha ha, I love your description of your love for the macarons :D. I also hope one day that I will be able to try the real Ladureé macarons, lucky you.
The first time I ate a macaron was when I baked them in my home, they were good, I didn't follow the instructions strictly. The second time I baked I followed the instructions and the macarons wasn't perfect. The third time I ate macarons was at Waynes coffé and I almost puked because of the bad taste and consistense.

    1. Yeah! I also tried to bake them myself. Just once but it was nightmare enough for avoiding it in the future. I prefer to pay to someone who is an actual chef instead of making awful creepy experiments at home, but it´s just because I am an awful cook... haha. And as for Ladurée, they are opening shops at capitals all around the world, so maybe you are lucky to try them soon.

  5. I love the mental image of your huge scroll of places to go being carried around.

That macaron shop looks amazing! I would love to go there, too! I adore macarons! I recently had a earl grey and blueberry one from a little Chinese shop that was just insanely delicious!

I need to travel the world more! But just doing things where I get to dress up in Victorian outfits are wonderful! Also I am really hoping to get to go to the Regency Ball this year!

Oh! And I do like historically accurate dress up ocassions too. We are in the same boat :)
      Just welcome to my place.

    1. Vanilla was to die for, even when I thought it was a regular flavor when I ordered and all my hopes were concentrated on the violet savor. It was shoking surprise!

Hopefully, you will be done with your exams soon!

  7. Since you are talking about travel, I've recently went to Barcelona, Spain - that's off the list.
I think is great to have a list. U materialize into paper the things that u wish for, besides only thinking about them - one step closer to having them/making dreams come true.

    Lovely pics.

  9. Those look delish!

I don't have a secret list, but I got it in my head to go to Puerto Rico about a month ago. I couldn't shake it, so I just bit the bullet and went - I was there when you posted this, in fact. I loved it and long to go back.

    1. Oh, the Caribbean Sea sounds like heaven to me right now on this extreamly cold weather. I have never been a hot weather person, but I think +20 grades would be a very delightful temperature right now :P
