The wedding chronicles

As I repeatedly  said before, it is time to stop procrastinating and finally to share some of the memories from our big day. It took us some time to collect all the pictures, as our photography studio was a small one and they struggled a bit during the end of the weddings season to edit and deliver both photos and albums. However, we are truly happy about the results (and will probably hire them again for our first anniversary). Also, we have been very busy with studies and work, and that never helps, does it? But the thing is I am able to post our memories now.

I truly hope you enjoy my Wedding Chronicles.

Our Gothic & Victorian wedding portraits.

Yesterday, we celebrated our four month wedding anniversary with awe.

It was not a particularly special date, of course, but we are amazed how quickly time goes by. So, I decided this week was a good moment to share with you a few pictures from our big day professional photoshoot. They were taken after the ceremony, on the 20th of September. As our scenario, we chose a recently restored Victorian house in Bucharest. The reason to select this particular manor house was we felt it perfectly fitted the Gothic and Victorian theme of the wedding.

Blogmas Day 7: Wedding picture released!

Hello everybody and welcome to day 7 of Blogmas!

Today I wanted to make something very different. At the end of December it will be three months The Gentle One and I are happily married. How crazy is that?! It looks like it was yesterday I was drinking a cup of tea with shaking hands while waiting for the hair stylist to enter the hotel room and start working. It takes ages to plan a wedding, but once is over times goes by really fast.

This week, and after a lot of waiting, I finally received the first handful of wedding pictures. It has felt like the first Christmas present of the year! I am saving a proper report about our big day until Blogmas is over. Nonetheless, I could not resist the temptation of sharing one of our favourite portraits: it was taken in a restored nineteenth century palace, during our Victorian themed photoshoot. We are very happy about how it turned out, as it reflects the atmosphere we were looking for, something between Coppola´s Dracula and The Age of Innocence by Scorsese. But anyway, I think it is a good picture, with tons of personality. ( The Gentle One looks so handsome, what a lucky lady I am. Just don´t tell him, I don´t want him to realize what a fan girl he has married...)

Back home.

Hi everyone!
I am glad to say we are safe back home after our honeymoon holiday.
Both, the wedding and the trip were wonderful and we couldn´t be happier in this moment.
It´s kind of strange everything is gone now, specially after so many months preparing every single detail. Also, as I briefly mentioned on Instagram, returning to our apartment has been kind of bitter-sweet, as we found our wedding day remaining flowers now drying and fading, together with the little ton of memories everywhere we need to collect and storage properly once we find the time to do it. Anyway, I am glad to say while I am writting this I am happily married!

The final count down

So, it has been a while since my last wedding update here.
Although I haven´t posted about in recently, preparations have been progressing at their own pace.
Most of the errands elapsed uneventful and easy, I am happy to say.
However, a couple of essential details were delayed mostly until last minute.

March wedding updates

These few months have been quite modest in terms of wedding preparations.
Since I last posted about it in December, we have found difficult to succeed in making solid plans, as well as following a proper schedule.
The main reason is our December holiday in Spain was suppossed to constitute some extra spare time to work with, but by then I got the flu, and it spoilt the whole thing. After coming back to Bucharest, we managed to make very little advance, but I will tell you about it anyway.

This year higlights

My calendar reminded me it is time for another monthly round-up this week, but for December I thought it could be interesting to forget about my last month adventures and simply talk about this year´s highlights instead.

And gosh, this year has gone by so quickly!
I can´t believe 2014 is almost over and we are getting ready for 2015. The truth is I can´t actually complain about it, as this has been a very positive period for me. Of course there are some little things I would like to have solved better, but today I want to focus on all the other small good moments and share them with you.
My 2014 highlights have been...

December wedding preparations uploaded

December has been a good month to us in terms of wedding logistics. Until now, the only thing we had managed to solve was the reception venue (which we KNOW is actually the main source of concert for most peoples) but we had a very vague idea about how to manage the rest of the preparations: should we start dealing with providers already? Do we need a wedding planner? How could we make it truly personal without spending a little fortune? (and 'Oh, God, can we afford this? PLEASE, tell me we can afford this and avoid the bankrupt!').

What I did in October

I found myself checking the calendar this morning just to get amazed about how quickly November is going by.
Yes, I know I mention this on a monthly basis, but I can't avoid a certain feeling of loss when I am busy. It looks like time behaves like water running through my hands.
There is a couple of specific reasons for this making me feel a bit stressed, but I will be coming to it later.
In any case, as November is almost over, my electronic agenda rang again to remind me it is time to write about what I did last month.
 There we go!

Engaged

I turned thirty-one last Monday and I am glad to say I got formally engaged the same night too.
As you already know if you read this blog on a regular basis,
I am currently living in Bucharest for professional reasons, which means this year
my usual extravagant party was replaced by an apparently nothing-out-of-the-ordinary dinner with The Gentle One.
Or so I thought.
